Marketing Management - STP, 4P

2013.02.26 Homework 0

What is STP?
STP is a concept in application of marketing.
The letters “S”, “T”, “P” stand for Segmentation, Targeting, and Positioning.

STP includes 3 steps:

1.    Segmentation
Divide a market into many individual segments.
There are some special products fitting for each segment.
Let’s move on to the second part,”Targeting.”

2.    Targeting
A company selects a market segment with a highly focus, and then offers the services or products for related consumers.

3.    Positioning(or Product Positioning)
It often used in positioning a product
Positioning is about brand building.
It’s the perception of consumers focusing on the target market.
“Positioning focuses on the perceptions of the prospect not on the reality of the brand.”

(All above is an incomplete knowledge for STP concept. It’s rewritten and integrated by myself.)
